Katipatch Catchup Issue 1 - 8th February 2006
Hello everyone,
A big thank you to all those who made our Opening Day such a success. We were thrilled with the response, and lovely to see so many new faces as well as Jenny’s “regulars”. We are open Mon – Fri 9am – 4.30pm and Saturdays 9am – 12noon and if you haven’t made your way to our door yet, we look forward to meeting up with you sometime soon. We are slowly finalising placement of things in the shop, having moved some shelves several times; we are grateful for understanding husbands! The feedback from visitors has been wonderful and makes us believe we are on the right track. The schoolroom (class room) is being completed as we write – it is spacious and light, so there will be plenty of room to spread out.
There are 2 classes we are offering soon. First is a Sampler Quilt for Beginners - please see the attached photo. We will run this class during the day or in the evenings, depending on numbers. It runs for 9 weeks of 2hrs per session. A new block will be taught each lesson, covering all the techniques needed to carry on alone afterwards. The cost for the entire 9 weeks is $120. To ensure your place in class we need payment with registration. Please pop in to see the sample on display in the shop if you are considering this class.
Class 2 is Postcard from the Tropics with Mary Transom – a gorgeous wallhanging with Mary’s trademark embellishing (see attachment). We are the first to offer this new class, so be in! This sample is also on display in the shop. The class will be held on March 11th & 12th from 9.30am – 4pm and costs $110 and includes a delicious lunch each day from the Carvery Café at our complex. Payment with registration
The sample for the Kotuku class will be going back to Dianne Fussell next week. If you wish to see this exquisite wallhanging in reality please pop in before Friday 17th.
Our website is a work in progress – please keep checking for updates.
