Katipatch Catchup Issue 10 - 24th October 2006
Dear Patchworkers,
Already we’re over halfway through October – what happened to the other 9 months of this year?!! It doesn’t seem to matter how organised we are, fitting everything into our day seems to get harder as we get older, or is it just that we’re trying to fit more in? Certainly, the number of quilts completed each year doesn’t go up! However, we can help you with any of the difficulties you might have in getting a quilt top to the finished quilt stage – just talk to us. Alternatively, if there is a technique or a particular project you would like to learn please let us know and we will do all we can to help you – we may just have a class in mind.
It’s time to start thinking about Christmas gifts (and what you’d like!). Just a reminder that we have gift vouchers for $25, $50 and $100, redeemable on anything in the shop, so let other members of the family know this. We also have some original kits, which include everything you need (almost) to complete.
The Huskystar C10 is a user-friendly, computerised machine of exclusive Swedish design. It has a memory function for pattern combinations and is an ideal patchworkers’ machine. This normally retails for $899 and is on special at present for $749. Come in for a hands-on trial.

" Lilies Sat 4th Nov. 9.30am – 3.30pm $65 incl lunch. Dianne Fussell is an expert in machine embroidery – her expertise is brought to the fore making these lilies look so realistic. Join Dianne and start your own wallhanging or quilt centre.
" Piece on Earth Thurs 9th Nov 9.30am – 3.30pm $45 incl lunch. Christmas tree through a window measuring 27” x 30” to add your own embellishments to. (see attached photo)
" Take Twelve Thurs 16th Nov 9.30am – 3.30pm $45 incl lunch. Make a single bed quilt in double quick time using twelve Quilters Quotas (0.3m). We have 2 quilts made up in this pattern in the shop, so take a look next time you’re in the shop. (see attached photo for the floral look; we also have one made up in old denim jeans). This is one quilt where you let the fabric do the work!
" Mrs Claus Wed 15th Nov (see attached photo) 9.30am – 3.30pm $50 incl lunch. Deb Jefferson has added this doll to her Christmas collection – now you can add her to yours.
" Making Friends with Your Machine Thurs 23rd Nov 5 – 7pm for 3 weeks $40 A comprehensive hands-on course covering accessories, using the memory, and maintenance of your machine. Cindy is our expert and knows just how to get the best out of your investment. If you buy your machine from us, this course comes free.
" Mesh Weaving Bag Tues 28th Nov 9.30am – 3.30pm $65 incl lunch. Pauline Williams has put together this delightful little bag using her very interesting fabric weaving.
