Katipatch Catchup Issue 11 - 10th November 2006

Dear Patchworkers,

We don’t want to spoil your day, but Christmas is only just over 6 weeks away! That’s plenty of time to get a few projects finished, depending of course how big those projects are, and how much is left to do. But it’s also time to start planning for that festive time.

Celebrate Christmas with us for the week of 18th – 22nd  Dec. Join us for a piece of cake and Fat Quarter specials all week. Katipatch will be closed from Sat 23rd Dec and reopening on Mon Jan 8th.

Classes coming up this month:

Tues 28th Nov Mesh Weaving Bag with Pauline Williams. $65 for the day workshop (which includes lunch). See the attached photo. Register your interest now by phone (07) 549 5900 or reply to this e-mail.

On Wed 29th Nov we are offering a very special workshop to make a Christmas Tree with Lights. This is an absolutely stunning decoration designed by Raewyn Evans (see attached photo). Gather up brooches, buttons, old clip-on earrings and memorabilia and join Raewyn from 9.30am – 3.30pm. $85 covers the class fee, lunch and a kit to get you started.

We now stock Fabrico craft ink pads and matching dual markers – ideal for landscapes, flowers, faces etc.

Special for the months of Nov –Jan Elna 7200 has $200 worth of free thread in a handy quilt box.

Husqvarna Huskystar C10 at $749 for Nov only – an excellent machine for people getting into patchwork

Anyone purchasing a machine from us gets free Making Friends with Your Machine classes with Cindy. That’s 6 hours of hands-on tuition covering accessories, using the memory, and maintenance of your machine.

And now introducing the NEW Husqvarna Viking Fabric Mover with Stitch Regulator by Quilters Cruise Control. It does the thinking, so you can have the fun!

The Husqvarna Viking Fabric Mover with Stitch Regulator lets you experience the fun of free motion sewing and embroidery without thinking twice about your results. The Optical Sensor “brain” regulates your straight and zigzag stitches; accurate, even and beautiful on any colour fabric or batting. A finger’s touch glides the large ball-bearing Fabric Mover surface. Learn free-motion quickly and easily. Fabric Mover shortens the learning curve so you get great results right away! Carefree and confident, you’ll stipple, quilt, and embroider, thread-paint and more, thinking only about the fun! The Fabric Mover is also ergonomically designed to eliminate stress, and neck and back strain that can be associated with free-motion sewing and quilting.

The Fabric Mover will be available February 2007. In the meantime check it out at http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/us/7610_7611.htm

Don’t forget about our Charmers packs. Register for these and you will receive 4 mailouts of 25 four inch squares of fabric – a great way to gather fabric for appliqué and scrap quilts, and also to get a first-hand look at all the new fabrics.

Katipatch Trash & Treasure day will be Sat 17th Feb. There will be tables set up outside under the verandah. At $5/half table for the day (or you can have a whole table for $10), starting at 9.30am you can sell any craft thing no longer of any use to you e.g. excess fabric, books, buttons & beads, wool, sewing machine(!!), ribbons, spinning wheel…………. Please let us know if you would like to book a space.

True friendship is a fabric that nothing can unravel.

Altogether patchwork
