Katipatch Catchup Issue 19 - 25th July 2007

Dear Patchworkers,

The cold, wet weather sure brings the patchworkers out; we have been seeing some beautiful quilts brought into the shop recently. It gives us a lot of pleasure to see completed projects, especially if we have played a part in the original fabric selection.

We have had many comments about the gorgeous Pukeko raffle quilt hanging in the shop. This pattern is now available for those who would like to make it.

A big thank you to those of you who have donated magazines and books for the Neurological Foundation sales box. These keep trickling in, so be sure to check it out each time you visit, as there will be something different being added on a regular basis. $2 per magazine or book. We have now collected $182 for our charity – fantastic!!

For those who have registered for our BOM, block 2 is now available. See the attached picture. If you haven’t registered yet but would like to start, this is on-going, so call us now. We are enjoying watching the blocks being constructed by some of our Friday Friends, some of whom are making them with their own twist. For those of you who enjoy appliqué, don’t forget that we have Appliqué mats available in 2 sizes – 40cm x 34cm at $24.80, and 21cm x 30cm for $14.80. You will be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper anywhere else.

We hope those of you who have registered for the Katipatch Sisters Friendship Block Exchange are well underway with your blocks. However, it’s not too late to join in if you are interested in making a quilt combining blocks from many other like-minded people, at no cost, except the making of your 20 blocks! At the finish you will end up with 19 blocks from different people plus one of your own. The rules are posted on our website  www.katipatch.co.nz   Once you have read the rules and want to be involved, just send us an email  info@katipatch.co.nz  or phone us on (07) 549 5900 to register. We plan to complete this project in October.
