Katipatch Catchup Issue 2 - 8th March 2006
We have survived our first month of business and we’re still sane – or at least we think we are! We have been blown away by the wonderful comments we have received. We are working towards offering a complete specialist service for patchworkers & quilters, so your feedback is very welcome. Please tell us your needs so that we can improve.
New this week are our Gift Vouchers for $25, $50 and $100. These would be a great gift for mothers (remember Mother’s Day is Sun 14th May) or daughters, for a birthday, a thank you, or just to say I love you and what you do. Drop hints if you would like one for yourself! They can be redeemed for class fees, or anything in the shop, personally or by mail order, so don’t feel they’re no use if you live elsewhere in the country.
The Beginners Classes are well underway – it’s great to see more enthusiastic people recognising the pleasure of our craft. If you know of someone who would like to learn, we will be running these classes regularly, so please let us know.
Friday Friends started last week and the attendees learnt to make Victorian lavender bottles with everything supplied. We have some great ideas for these days, to be offered on a randomly regular basis – sometimes we will have a guest speaker or display. The first Friday of each month we will have a mobile scissor sharpening service. They will sharpen on the spot, so you won’t need to be without at all.
We are pleased to have added local, Carol Tunnicliff, to our list of tutors. Carol will teach a Gollies & Dollies class (see attached photo) when we have enough interest. These wonderful creations are on display in the shop and everyone who sees them is attracted to them. This will be a one day workshop for $50 including lunch. Please register you interest now by dropping us an e-mail.
We have many more classes available when we have the numbers to run them; please check these out on our website and let us know if you would like to put your name down for something.
