Katipatch Catchup Issue 20 - 16th August 2007

Dear Patchworkers,

The cherry blossoms are all coming out in our area. Added to the jonquils and daffodils, they make a delightful display. Spring seems early this year, especially when we are still getting those cold snaps. It’s hard to believe that daylight saving starts in 6 weeks’ time! Not wishing our lives away, but we really enjoy those extra sunshine hours in the evenings.

We have trouble saying ‘no’ to our fabric suppliers, so much so that we have had to add more shelving to cater for the burgeoning fabric range. Check out the new children’s, landscape and ombres (variegated across the width) fabrics. New Kiwiana ‘Stitchbirds’ is now in stock in cream and black background.

Our second BOM ‘The Joy of Life’ is now listed on our website www.katipatch.co.nz . We are in the process of cutting it now, so it will be available soon. Let us know if you are interested in taking part.

We’ll be attending a couple of quilt exhibitions as merchants in the next couple of months – it’s always a busy time for us, but we love to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Look out for us at the Tauranga Patchwork and Quilters Exhibition ‘Quilts-a-Plenty’ on 7th – 9th Sept at the Tauranga Racecourse and the Plains Patchworkers regional day at Ngatea on Sun 7th October. There will lots of new kits and patterns available at these shows, but we’ll have them for sale in the shop after the shows are over.

More donated magazines have arrived for our charity collection. We are very grateful for the way everyone has supported this.
