About Us > Katipatch Catchup > Issue 27
Hello ladies, We get the occasional message back after sending out our Catchup, telling us that such-and-such address is no longer valid i.e. the person has changed their e-mail provider. Please let us know your new address if you change and wish to keep getting our newsletters. We have made another donation to the Neurological Foundation – this time for $250!! For those new to our “Catchup”, we accept donations of used patchwork and quilting magazines, which we sell for $2 each. The total certainly grows quickly, and we are grateful to those of you who have donated your magazines – it’s wonderful that others get some use out of them, and even better that a charity gets the benefit. In 2007 the foundation http://www.neurological.org.nz/ awarded $1.6million to fund research, 98% of which is from donations and bequests. Studies include Parkinson’s disease, stroke, brain injury, Alzheimer’s disease, seizures and autism, so it’s wonderful to think that we played a very small part in helping with this research. Keep looking through the books when you come into the shop as we add to them all the time. On Friday 23rd May at Friday Friends, Cindy will be doing a bag class (picture attached). Bookings are essential as some conditions apply. Are you up for a challenge??? The Katikati Open Air Arts Festival runs from 29th Sept – Sat 4th Oct. the theme of which is “A Journey”. In conjunction with the festival we hold our annual “Hanging of the Quilts”. Along with this we are running a challenge titled “A Journey” for which we have selected a NZ Batik fabric in 4 different colourways. Please read the attached rules and register your interest now.
