Katipatch Catchup Issue 7 - 22nd July 2006

Dear Patchworkers,

Our computer decided recently that we were putting it under too much pressure and it couldn’t stand the strain! We only just coped for the week we were without it, then of course there was the stress for the next week updating all the information - isn’t technology great!! We learnt our big lesson, and no, we haven’t got a back-up computer, but we will be doing regular back-ups!  Fortunately though, we still have all the database and class listings, so we can still keep in touch.

Consequently there is a bit of a catch-up with classes happening over the next few weeks, so browse through these and let us know ASAP if you’re interested in anything.

"     Progression class with Barbara Hilford this Sat 22nd July 9.30am – 3.30pm  Design your own contemporary work with Barbara’s very capable help.

"     Fabric mesh weaving with Pauline Williams next Mon 24th July 9.30am – 3.30pm (see attached photo) Pauline will teach you all you need to be able to complete your own quilt, cushion or bag in this fascinating style.

"     Beginners Class beginning 27th July every Thursday morning for 9 weeks Always popular

"     Candlewicking with Ngaire Noone Monday 7th August (call into the shop to see Ngaire’s gorgeous sampler) Ngaire is an expert in this wonderful traditional technique.

"     Sunflowers with Mary Transom Sat 5th & Sun 6th August  - very popular (see attached photo) Mary’s classes always fill quickly

A reminder that our Nifty Fifty challenge draws to a close – final day to get your entries in is Friday 28th July when they will be displayed in the schoolroom for judging by our Friday Friends.

On Friday 18th August we are introducing Mid-winter Mystery & Mayhem beginning at 4.30pm and going through till about midnight. For $15 you will get instructions to make a lap size mystery quilt, dinner with wine, tea & coffee as required, spot prizes, all your fabric cut for you, and the two of us doing any pressing and unpicking (if required!). You will need to get your name on this night fairly early so that you can get your fabrics together and we can get them cut for you; places will be limited. To add to the fun, come along dressed in your PJ’s. It should be a great night.

We understand that for those of you on dial-up internet, our messages can sometimes take a little while to download because of the photos we attach. However, we try to keep them as small as possible size-wise. We apologise if this causes any inconvenience, but believe that seeing the sample makes it much easier for you to know if you are interested in a class.

My soul is fed by needle and thread.
