Katipatch Catchup Issue 9 - 13th September 2006

Dear Patchworkers,

Spring has sprung – isn’t it great to see the cherry blossoms, kowhais and bulbs bursting forth! Some of the new NZ fabrics in the shop reflect the wonderful native flowers and the birds that feast on them. There is certainly a great range of these fabrics available now and our collection is growing.

We are spending much of this month either preparing for or attending exhibitions – Tauranga Patchworkers & Quilters this weekend at the racecourse, the following Saturday at the Craft & Quilt Fair at Claudelands Events Centre, Hamilton where Cindy will be on the Husqvarna Viking stand, and all the following week we have our own Hanging of the Quilts in conjunction with the Katikati Open Air Arts Festival. Here we will have the entries for our Coffee & Cream Challenge on display, along with other quilts made by local quilters. Entry is by a gold coin donation to the St Johns 24/7 campaign. If you would be able to help us out during this week, we would be very grateful; we are looking for “white glove ladies” to watch over everyone’s precious quilts to ensure the general public gives them the respect they are due. Please contact us if you would be able to spend a couple of hours.

Our Charmers have been a great hit and the first pack of twenty five 4inch squares has been sent out. If you would like to go on our mailing list for these, just let us know.

We have more classes planned for the next couple of months, so take a look and see if there is something you would be interested in. Let us know by return e-mail  info@katipatch.co.nz  or a phone call 07 549 5900 if you would like to register your interest.
